omar_munoz123 Posted December 5, 2012 Share Posted December 5, 2012 (edited) I have a 1977 280z which runs great but at times has trouble starting up because the RPM needle is lower, less than one, but when it runs normally it stays at 1. I need to know how to raise the rpm needle to a little bit over 1 (In between 1 and 1 and a half) can anyone please help me with this? Kurbycar32 Posted December 5, 2012 Share Posted December 5, 2012 Generally you dont increase the idle speed to make a car run better. Your car should idle nicely between 700-800 RPM and that's actually a smog requirement in California, your repair manual will have the exact RPM.
