Jason81NA,82RBtt
I'm seriously plaining on putting in a RB2?det? into my 280zx. I going to be getting a settlement pretty soon and will have enough money for the swap. But first.. 1. Who can I get RB's from at good prices? 2. Will I also need the mounts from 200zr? 3. What model trans do I need? 4. Will the twin turbo motor fit a ZX? 5. What intake do I need? 6. What oil pan? 7. Tell me anything else that you think I might need. Thanks Jason
QWKDTSN
Check this out... JDM RB2?DE 280ZX It's possible... i'd ask Stony about it since he was in Japan to get his 260Z swap done. He may know something about a 280ZX swap.
Guest nustad
We have heaps of Skylines in New Zealand so a RB20DET are very cheap to buy - RB25DET not so cheap or plentiful. I think the 5 speed for a RB25DET is bigger so it requires more work in the transmission tunnel to fit in a Z. If you can't be bothered with getting an engine from Japan then New Zealand parts suppliers will ship from here. That way the transaction is in English and the exchange rate is in your favour -$1US = $2.38NZ. There are quite a few NZ parts suppliers on the web. Guest lambsr
I've seen that before...it's a custom jobby (ie non-factory) using an RB30 block and an RB26 head. I've also got some photos of a similar thing in a Skyline, but fuel injected. Tommy Kaira was one guy/firm in Japan that specialised in this sort of thing.
