japanparts999
You really need to be following the quack show in congress that is getting ready to put into commite a national internet sales tax - yes this has been going on for sometime but IM not against paying what is right but, its going to kill a lot of small shops who are a great support the automotive community, and whats really getting bad lately is the post office - services have been cut and prices keep going up and up. there is no competitive advantage using UPS or fedex to ship international but man its really gotten out of control as far as keeping small business in business. So. ebay wants you the seller to collect and mange sales taxes for 10,000 + counties in the USA. If book keeping isnt time consuming enough as it is. calpoly-z
Do a little fact checking before posting please. I am not in favor of the bill, but there are a few attributes to this bill that don't make it as bad as it initially seems. First of all, it only applies to businesses with more than $1million in revenue. This immediately disqualifies just about everyone selling stuff here and the majority of people on ebay. Secondly, the bill states that software must be made available for free to help manage the tax percentages and that there will be one governing body per state that payments will be made to. So knock the 9800+ tax agencies down to less than 50. Still a royal PITA, but much more manageable IF it even gets passed and made into law.
