Bob_H Posted February 4, 2002 Share Posted February 4, 2002 Your 75 engine will bolt right into an 81. Both are L28 L6 motors with the same motor mount points. I think there was some small difference in the intake manifold/injection btw the two. I don't know the difference. They could put the 4 speed in their car,(with the driveshaft from yours as well), but why? If they are switching from an auto, they are much better off finding a good 5 speed from a 78Z-83ZX or rebuilding what they have. 280z-racer Posted February 7, 2002 Share Posted February 7, 2002 just make sure that the all the smog stuff for the 81 is intact. luckily the engines look the same so getting it through smog is cool as long as the stuff for the 81 is there.
