Kerrigan
Z sat in garage for a couple of weeks and would not start. No fuel flow getting to the carbs. Replaced original mechanial fuel pump and filter and still no gas flowing. Gas seems to flow okay from tank to filter. Don't see any leaks. Put new hoses on all fuel lines in engine compartment. Lost as to what to look for next. Could it be a problem actually in the engine? Camshaft is turning. Can't see the arm on the pump ... have to pull valve cover to check that; rather not ... but ... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We've been able to drive it three times this summer (battery dead cell problem, brake light problem, ignition problem, and now fuel problem ....) Thank you!!
spitz17
Did you rule out fuel tank rust? Sounds like the car sits quite a bit. Rust flakes could have clogged the fuel passages. Are your carbs stock?
NewZed
Remove the hose that supplies the carbs, stick the end in a container and turn the engine over.
Pharaohabq
might be the diaphram in the fuel pump.. it tears and no pumpee...
norbert
i dont know if it would work on the carb set up, but what i did to mine was run it on starter fluid for about 5 min, until it started to feed gas again
