wickiewicked240z
I bought a 6an rail from Ross I wanted yo know if I can tap the ends with a m14x1.5 tap is the I.D of the rail to big for that tap. Or can I use a m16x1.5? I have a metric tap set that's why I'm using those sizes. Thanks
winstonusmc
I used 1/4 inch NPT. Yes, I know you said that you have a metric tap, but NPT barbed fittings are easier to get ahold of. I used a barbed fitting for the in and got the AN-6 to NPT fitting for the return. NPT taps are cheap and available at almost any hardware store. wickiewicked240z
I don't want to use barb fittings for the feed/return fuel sides on rail i was thinking of going m14x1.5 or (m16x1.5) to 6an to tube nut to 3/8 aluminium tubbing. Metro
I'm not really sure what size that rail is for. It says the ID is 0.5" and my 3/8" npt tap says to use a 7/16" bit (.4375). I'm guessing an M14 tap would use a slightly smaller hole, say 13mm. So it will either be just right or you'll need patience and a big wrench. I'm going to be making a new rail in a few days and opted for the -8 size so I can use 1/2 NPT to AN -6 fittings on the ends.
