wanna buy a 23.1L 4-rotor? smile.gif makes 2000hp

http://www.rotarypowerinternational.com/SpecSheet/580rot~2.pdf

for more milder engines check this:

http://www.rotarypowerinternational.com/SpecSheet/70rota~1.pdf

2.6L 4-rotor

all these engines are N/A and they have iron rotor housings... not aluminum like the Mazda variants... these aren't rebuilt motors; they are a totally different brand motor for different applications. the iron makes them a lot heavier but also much more reliable

You should have asked him what cams he was using =)

Actually I use to be a rotory head before I got into the Z's and are solgan was "I rather be a rotor then be pist-on"

I spent a total of $1500 brand new performance parts on my RX7 which was enough to get me 13.7 in the quarter.

Rotory's are known for cheap HP meaning doesn't take much to make them fast. Unfortunately they break easy.

I'm not sure how reliable the 4 rotors are, but I would think about how are you going to get replacement parts and find a mechanic who knows how to work on them if it breaks internally.

The 4 rotors you see people building out of their garage from 2 13b's arent very strong I would imagine but if you get a factory 4 rotor they are strong and very fast a turbo 4 rotor set up right would beat most cars you could think of. I am making no statement either way on them beating an exotic super sports car in the long run but the quarter mile.... the rotary engines accelerate very fast. 1 "stroke" in a rotary is supposed to be equal to 3 strokes in your normal engine.

BTW if anyone sees 3 or 4 rotor engines for sale post it somewhere or send me an email plz

He got pulled over by a cop who followed him for THREE MILES before catching him. Never got a radar. Told him to open his hood, followed by "Get rid of this car (sell it) in 30 days or you'll be explaining why you were driving a car with THAT engine on THIS road." Sold it to a mitsubishi dealer on his way home. Not as a used car, but as the dealer's PERSONAL vehicle. He'd apparently been eyeing it for some time.

Edit: I might add. This car looked 100% stock from exhaust to tires to EVERYTHING. There wasn't even a hint of performance. He used drawstring cutouts for an exhaust, and was using them when he got pulled over.

first: 8 rotor? I agree bull

second: rotory powered nascar? never seen or heard of one

third: cops are not that bright in general

fourth: 8 rotor eclipse? not possible on any normal budget

oh and if it was an 8 rotor the cop WOULD NOT have caught him unless he stopped and flagged him down :D

yup sounds like his friend wanted to feel special... that company i posted info about sells a 6-rotor... but its a 30L motor (yes 30 not 3)

an 8-rotor won't fit in an eclipse first off, he was obviously b-sing just so he could feel special; naturally he didn't pop the hood because it was a stock car... driving at 120? i guess i'm special too; i was doing that speed last night on the way back from Gulfport, MS... yup and I was in my Lexus SC300... stock :D yup its got a twinturbo V12 bone stock ;)

hey, if you are really interested in rotaries, check out freedom motors, the same people that made super trapp, and the moller flying car, http://www.freedom-motors.com/ . they have 2L 4 rotor engines that weigh a mere 140lbs. they produce up to 300 hp. now that sounds impressive to me when a person could put an engine in themselves w/out a lift and get 300hp out of it. just a thought.

Sold it to a mitsubishi dealer on his way home. Not as a used car, but as the dealer's PERSONAL vehicle. He'd apparently been eyeing it for some time.

...And then the dealer asked him why there was a HOOK HAND attached to the passenger door handle!!!!

He was later killed for flashing his headlights at an oncoming car to signal that their headlights were off (well-known gang initiation ritual urban legend)

You think so until you and some of your buddys try and take it out by hand.

Background - 3 guys and a girl pulled a 12A rotory by hand with a guy helping once it cleared the bumper.

ok guys

i know no one cares what i have to say

But i have dreamed of this swap since auto school in 90 at pennco

i have never been able to come up with the money and time (at the same time) to do a Z with a 4 row rotary motor

i feel that a Z is one of the few cars that should ever have this done.

PLEASE send me a pic if you do this swap

as far as a 8 row rotary set up, its my under standing that after 4 row they like to break.

on a trans, myself, I would use a P glide,

but do what you will

God that thing would FLY

Dont say that; of course people care what you think. If you have an opinion then it is worth talking about.

Even more important is that you have a dream 2thumbs.gif I understand rotary engines (no hands on experience) but dont let people poo-pah your idea. Your idea is yours...make it happen & surround yourself with other people who think like you do & it will come to pass.

Dreams are cool, it is what inspires people to do some pretty amazing things. Scarab Inc got started because of a dream. Mike Knell began his JTR Inc as a result of a dream. Now we have HybridZ as a direct result of all those other dreams from other people.

Keep your dream in the back of your mind (on the back shelf) and when timing is right-go for it.

Seriously-dont ever think that people dont care about what you think!

Kevin,

Yeah, do you think Dodge/Ford or Chevy were using it? I wonder...

A solid flat tappet cam in a rotary car, very interesting...

Yep, I had a cop (white one at that) pull me over in my 94 Camaro for excessive exaust note. The car was making 411 RWHP with a biggy cam/heads etc, and he commented that it sounded like it needed a tune up, no duh jerkoff (I love that sound), obviously the guy grew up around Honduhs. I ran a 234/246 (Isky) cam which will definitely give you a nice lumpy idle.
