HybridHydra
I heard using a GT30 will be to big and cause a lot of lag. If I use a twin scroll housing on a GT3071R would this reduce the lag? I just bought an RB20 and want to aim for about 400RWHP Edited December 10, 2015 by HybridHydra
Wizzurp
Do you have a divided manifold? If not it'll make the spool that much crappier with a divided housing. That turbo will definitely get you to 400 with the other supporting mods.

I'm just deciding on what turbo I should run on my RB20 Edited December 10, 2015 by HybridHydra
ihiryu
I used a HX35 and hated it. Super, duper late spool. But I know a big part of it was my downpipe. My downpipe was only a meager 2.5, then it became 3.0. If I could have gone a complete 3" I know it would have helped in spool. The HX35 is a bit closer to a GT35R though. With my HX35 I began seeing boost at about 3000, and full boost closer to 4500. Fortunately enough it was in a S30 chassis, so it was pretty light, and off boost was not too bad. I eventually swapped the turbo to a generic ebay T3, and was much happier with it. However, I was only shooting for the 300 HP mark.
Wizzurp
What turbine housing did you have on the holset? If it was a stock one that would definitely be your issue, You need something with a lot smaller ar. .60 or something similar would help spool on something like that quite a lot. ihiryu
Been so long ago I don't recall. But it was a stock Holset. I didn't know the exducer could be swapped?
Wizzurp
The turbine housing definitely can!
