HuD 91gt
I installed a 1mm MLS Kaminari headgasket in my new rebuild using ARP studs. If I remember properly, torqued down to 60ft/lbs. I did a 25 minute break in, and now the head has to come back off. Is the head gasket reusable? I've read thing's that if the sealer is intact it should be ok. Should I use a spray on sealer to make sure it seals? Edited April 26, 2016 by HuD 91gt
Xnke
If it's an MLS headgasket, I'd read the instructions that came with it to determine if it's reusable. I've seen them reused multiple times in the past by different makers, though.
HuD 91gt
Thanks Xnke, Unfortunately it came without any documentation from MSA. But yes, it is a MLS gasket. For the price of the gasket, I think it's worth a try. The only thing is I wonder if it's worth cleaning all the viton coating off, and spraying it with something new. SHADY280
I've re used mine about 4 times now. No troubles at all. Mine is the Nissan unit and I have a 1mm and 2mm for when I was trying different head combos.
