Ryan Merrill
Just testing fitting the C5 Corvette oil pan. Its about as shallow as a oil pan as you can get and it fits fantastic. My setup: 240z 5.3 Aluminum L33 CX Racing Motor mounts (there really high, wish i could lower then engine some) Pan site about 3/4" above the crossmember/ Tons of clearence even on low vehicles. Note the trans (4L80e) is not installed in this picture so the motor is tilting down about 2"-ish inches. The motor is going to be moved 1/2 to 1" forward, or I will remove the stock hood latch. http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j33/mustangmerrill/Mobile%20Uploads/20160612_115648_zpszsxrd4au.jpg
jersleds
Thanks for posting the clearances on the c5 pan. I've an l33 in the garage-waiting for the right Z. Will be following this topic-I'd like to see some of that 4l80 in there.
trackzpeed
Hey Ryan... What fuel rail are you using?
260DET
Can't mod the engine mounts to lower the engine more? The higher the engine the more centre line angle which is not good when trying to line up the drivetrain properly, it may also affect fitting the big 80 in. Mount makers should put several alternative hole locations in their mounts, slack.
