Seriously, I'm giving some thought to pulling the bottom end of the motor and swapping pistons for something lower in the compression area, and running a more Forced induction friendly cam..... I'd like to possibly see 600 HP at the wheels... However, Those injectors should be OK for feeding the 540+ I'm currently pushing shouldn't they??? Turn down the presure a bit, make a few adjustments to the fuel map... Hell I have no clue, but these fit my future goal so what the heck... Scottie-GNZ Posted May 26, 2001 Share Posted May 26, 2001 Mike, a very conservative guideline says those injs can support 480RWHP at 80% duty cycle. They can certainly support 600 but you would obviously have to run beyond 80% DC and maybe even a little more FP. Mikelly Posted May 26, 2001 Author Share Posted May 26, 2001 Well I also plan to upgrade the ECM and software to the Holley MPI software, so I'll be unloading the Cutler stuff on one of the boating boards or E-bay, and going with the Holley stuff. Hopefully when all is said and done I'll have less than $1000 out of pocket for everything. Still need a lap top though.. 70# injectors???? Actually with the lower fuel pressure the injectors are equivalent to about 68# and were seeing 76% duty cycle. What turbo do I run? I'm gonna have the TB, Injectors, rails, pump, reglator, all sensors, intake... and support wiring, but I realy need to know what my options are here for ecu and software...I'm leaning towards the Holley, but I'd be up for other solutions/ options as well, as long as they have a laplink and datalogging... BLKMGK Posted May 27, 2001 Share Posted May 27, 2001 Try to find a sequential system with wide band O2. Spark and fuel control of course. Knock sensing perhaps. NOS control or boost control maybe? Look for good (FAST!) data logging and tools to manage the resulting data. Something that "self tunes" for a target A/F ratio wouldn't be a bad idea. Local support would be cool too. Hrm, Electromotive is based in Manassas and has all those features including waste spark firing I would advise you to at least speak to them. They ain't cheap but at least you no longer have to buy their software. Look at the Speedpro units and the very latest DFI stuff that's either just out or about to come out. Lastly, what's wrong with what you've got? Haltech right? Spark AND fuel control? You've got a dyno near you that Barry has used, yes? Why don't you head over there and see what they like? Someone will have to tune this beast, trust me, and it would be a good idea to use a system the tuner is familiar with..... Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Cars running in the 8's have to be dooing something right! You'll give up the comfort level of having lot's of logging and whatnot but the price is right....
