DC_Mike
So I just got this 240Z and when I tried to open the rear hatch. . . nothing. Luckily (I guess) there was a lot of rust around the lock, so poking it out I was able to see the lock wasn't engaging the striker of the latch unit, but more to the point the latch unit was rust welding and won't release the bar. I've shot a bunch of PB blast in it, but it isn't going anywhere. Any suggestions?
grannyknot
You can remove the licence plate light and behind it are the 2 bolts that hold the receiver latch to the car, unbolt them and the hatch should open. With that area having so much rust it is almost certain those to bolts will snap off when unscrewing them.
