denny411
Does anyone know if the TO4 came stock on anything? and would two of these work well in stock form for a 350 sbc? or would I have to change turbins or something else? yo2001
Man, there are alot of T04's out there and they are many different size too. But most T04 were on the diesel trucks. Rotomaster, Rayjay are some company names on the compressor housings. I think you'll be looking at 1.19AR turbine housing one.
denny411
what about a pair of these? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33742&item=1876713852 Would thay give me what I`m looking for? Even if I don`t buy these it could give me a start for what cars to look for.
yo2001
The compressor sure does look big enough. But you might want to find the exhaust turbine housing AR and the trim. I thin you want like q trim or something like that.
denny411
I can see now, that I need to get a book on turbocharging. Just to figure out the terminology, and what parts do what is going to take some time. Any suggestions on prefered reading? What about the stock GN turbo`s? What size are they, and how would they work?
yo2001
350ci right?with twin, half the motor is 175ci which is just little bit over the L28 (168ci) but with that power you are looking at GN turbos probably won't be enough. But you can always upgrade the compressor on them to get more flow so those might work. They are not as big as small T04 though. Corky bell's "maximum boost" is what's recommended. denny411
What about EFI? would a mid 80`s tuned port injection manifold work?
fl327
yeah, not sure what kind of rpm you could get out of it though, maybe the forced induction would help it out, but na they suffer around 4500rpm, they werent designed for hp, the design focused on low end grunt. There is no such thing as spooling "too quickly". Do you hear guys with naturally aspirated engines complaining that they don't have boost lag? Actually upon reading it again I think I know what you mean. The turbos will be spooled and maxxed out before he ever reaches the power level he wants.
