CU Zcar
I've found a possible deal on an old Haltech F3 fuel computer, comes with manual, harness and sensors for $200...I've heard that the older systems aren't that refined but compared to eventually trying to make the stock electronics work running upped boost, possibly larger injectors, getting rid of the flapper AFM, etc. on a turbo L28, would it be worth it? Is there anything terrible I should know about this system? Thanks,
Cruez
I can't remember off the top of my head but I think my brother is running an F3 on his turbo 240Z.. I'll have to check and see....if so. It seems to be ok, just not as precise to tune as newer models.... but if it works, thats pretty cheap...
Guest Anonymous
Sounds like a good deal if everything is working. Remeber that the F3 is a fuel only computer, so you'll still need to setup your ignition by some other means. You're right on about the F3 being better then trying to fudge the stock system. After enough mods, the stock system just can't cut it.
CU Zcar
D'ooh the guy sold it to someone locally, guess I'll just look and see what else is out there...maybe I'll try to pick up a MegaSquirt...
Tim240z
maybe I'll try to pick up a MegaSquirt... I also want a MS, but it looks like March or later before they get another group buy going. Can someone post if they catch wind of a group buy and we miss it?!?! Thanks, Tim
Guest jt240z
I have an MS for sale from the previous group buy. It's a V1.0 but is fully compatable with the existing unit and software. The unit is fully assembled and ready to go. I just decided to go with the Haltech instead.
Tim240z
How much man, how much!!!
Guest jt240z
I'll sell it for the money that I paid for the kit which is $100. That's only the main unit and db37 connector. It has the 2 bar MAP sensor and the John/Wing mod done, but if your following the MS then you know that there are some other mods that can be done as well. It does not come with any sensors but the sensors were never part of the kit anyways. Keep in mind that the MS is an experimental unit that is still evolving. I can't begin to tell you how much I learned from this project. I hope you would do just as well. Contact me off line if you're interested. odyssey@mindspring.com

F3 will run your car fine, no problem use a MSD6BTM to amp the spark and controll ignition and your fine. Give me a call I think I have a used one here I'll let go cheap. Alex Costa Precision Machined Engines 1-800-665-0405 P.S. I use a F3 and MSD on my ride.
