Heavy Z
I just had my Holley DP 650 re-jetted (from 67/72 to 64/71) and here's whats happening: From 0 to 1/4 throttle runs fine. From 1/4 to 1/2 throttle it sputters a bit and hesitates, and once I hit the secondaries the problem goes away and off I go. The problem isn't as bad if I leave the choke on. Too lean in the primaries? You guys know best so whattaya think?
Guest greimann
That is a classic symptom of lean hesitation, and the fact that having the choke on cures it. Try advancing your timing a few degrees first before going to 66 on the primary.
Mike C
You may also have a blown or wrong powervalve. This really makes it run lean at higher RPMS, by a factor of almost 10 jet sizes.
MYRON
You may also want to look at your accelerator pump. You may have to change that out or maybe change the little "cam" that actuates it. I think there are 3-5 different colored cams that change the timing of the "squirt" in relation to throttle position. Myron
Heavy Z
Thank all of you for your help, both for the direction as well as the peace of mind. I'm pulling the carb this weekend to get this problem handled...
