Guest ON3GO
hey everybody. I plan on doing a L28ET swap and the HP goal is 450rwhp on nitrous and 350hp without. not sure on the turbo but prob a 60-1/te stage 5. i found a intercooler for cheap and its very nice. The dimensions are L:15 1/2" W:23" 2 1/2" thick. Both inlets and outlets are 3 inches. would this work? mike
Clifton
Those are huge in/outlets, is it a Superduty intercooler? It would work though, just about anything will work to get 350rwhp, depending on the boost.
Z-Gad
width of 2.5" isn't the best either, but it will probably due for the 350hp off the NO2

If you can find out the flow rate and pressure drop, then you'd better know what you'd have.
Guest Tim78zt
all else being equal, what is better than 2.5" thickness? Corky Bell's book says something like 2.5" is ideal, more than that is a waste. I guess it would be good to know how fast your charge air is moving trough the cooler and is it gone before the back inch or so of the cooler has a chance to do it's job. Maybe cooling air entering the front only travels the first couple of inches before it becomes too warm to be efficient in the back inch of the cooler? It's been too long since I read that chapter!!
