pparaska
Mike, That seems like a lot for that pan setup, but from what I've heard you will have NOTHING to worry about if you're pulling a long high G sweeper at high rpm with it! Good deal on those rods!
Mikelly
Pete, The pan was $219, but the pickup and dipstick kit raises the price up to the $275 total. That's OK by me since one for a Ford small block is $429 for all three pieces... I've got the Canton oil filter, fuel filter and Accusump. I'm a B-I-G fan of CANTON products, and the added insurance and peace of mind was worth it! Mike Kelly
Guest needwaymorespeed
Mike Where are you getting the pan from sounds like a very good price to me?? Is it going to clear the long tube headers?? Curtis
Mikelly
Curtis, Check out this link... http://poske.com/parts/Canton/index.htm#PANS I had a friend of mine (Who sells them for MUCH MORE) pull the RR pan and the circle track pan and check them both out, and there is 1/2 inch more clearance and a wider "T" on the RR pan, and that is about it. The circle track pan is set up to distribute the oil slightly different, but my source said that it wasn't negligable. Guy has a 911 Carrera and knows a few things about going left and right in the turns and he was impressed with both pans and told me to go for the one I bought for his price (Which was $329).... I went to the link above and bought it there! Mike

Guest JAMIE T
Hey Mike, I'd like to take some detailed pics of that pan when it comes in. I need a similar pan but for a Ford. Let me know when you get it, I'll shoot up and check it out.

The circle track pan is set up to distribute the oil slightly different, but my source said that it wasn't negligable Not sure I understand. I'd be concerned that the doors/baffles/etc. allow for keeping the oil at the pickup on RIGHTHAND turns too. Does it have the same number of doors/baffles/walls that the RR pan does? Also, after putting my engine trans back in the other day, I see I didn't gain much clearance with my 7" deep Corvette pan (OE pans are generally 7-1/2") I would like to see it at 6" deep to keep it at crossmember height, as it seems my pan is still 1" below the crossmember (just eyeballing it). Anyway, did you mean to say the difference was negligible or not negligible? Does it have a kick out on only one side? BTW, THIS PLACE has the 11-120 (the one you bought?) for $206, and the 6-1/2"? Road Race Corvette pan (PN 15-240) for $264. Those are the best prices I've seen on these pans.
Mikelly
Pete, according to my source, the difference was negligable. Supposedly the setup for left hand turns was not an issue for overall driving. The pans come with 6 trap doors, and they are setup to allow oil to submerge the pickup in all conditions. The comment that was made to me about the RR pan was that the T was pretty wide and may cause issues for header routing. I'd love to have a 6inch deep pan, but I think my headers are gonna hit the ground before the pan... 1 3/4 long tubes are gonna be an issue. If I get the pan in and I don't like it, I'll be sending it back! Mike
pparaska
Thanks for the info Mike. It seems the left hander pan is a pretty good selection for long tubes.
