Guest zfan
Currently I an running 1.50 roller rockers on my sbc 355 roller cammed motor. A friend of mine has a like new set of crane aluminum 1.60 roller rockers he will sell me for 100 bucks. My question re: this switch is I know that I gain lift like from my current lift on my cam of 510 will go to something like 540. What other gain if any can be had. Any pro's or con's..would appreciate any imput as I have never run 1.6's on my set ups. My current cam specs are 224/230-502/510 at 110 its a Comp cams xr276-hr-10. Thanks Mike
Danno74Z
Mike, I'm definitely not an expert in this area but and I'm sure other will chime in. If you do this swap your new lift values will be 536/544 and you have to make sure your valve springs are up to the task without binding. I also read that more lift makes more horsepower and torque (some obvious physical constraints) but one drawback to a lot of lift is that it tends to make a torque curve peaky, i.e. increase midrange while hurting upper and low rpm. Like everything with engine mods it's a balancing act. Danno74Z
Mike C
IME and in accordance with everything I have read, says virtually no gain on the exhaust, but moderate to impressive gains on the intake. If you do run them, stay with the 1.5 exhaust setup. If they are 11755 Cranes, I'll give you a $150 or swap 8 11752 for 8 11755.
