Jason81NA,82RBtt
I been thinking about a idea that can get twin TB onto a L28 motor. It seems that SU powered cars are in general more powerful than EFI car with the same mods. This sould NOT be! This leads me to think that it must be the shape of the EFI intake. Here's my idea. Cut the part of a EFI that mounts the injectors. Then cut about that much off a pair of SU intakes. Then have the two parts weded together. Next remove the studs for the SU's have the holes filled and then drill and tap the same bolt pattern as the trottle body (about 5mm bigger than the SU pattern). Port the SU's intake and make linkages. Then have a Muffler shop make a larger surge tank with one 3in inlet and two ~2.5 in outlets, (this last part would only needed if using stock computers AKA: AFM or MAF set-up's). Well what do you guys think?? I have gathered all of the parts needed, the next thing is getting it done, but I decided to ask you guys first. BRAD D
could you not just put injector bosses on the SU intake?
fl327
i think everything motor wise being the same, you can make the efi car just as fast if not faster than the su or triple car and get better mpg and cold starting on top of it, you do have to modify the l jetronic, the intake manifolds are a good design i think, dont reinvent the wheel if you dont have to, and you dont have to. just my thoughts. Jason81NA,82RBtt
If I welded in injector bosses I would have make something that would hold the injectors down into the holes. With the part of the stock EFI intake I would have the two screws on each side of the injectors. Thanks JasonRB260ZX
randy 77zt
twm has efi throttle bodies to bolt on su carb manifolds.the oem manifold suffers from a small throttle body.some people run the throtlle bodies that replace side draft webers -6 throttles&6 injectors.big $. Guest empracing
at last im not alone i been thinking about that same maifold my self seeing that i have all the parts required including a twin t/b from a vg30det if i build it i will tell yas i promise ps the twin su's blew the doors off my zx efi set up i agree the tb is to small but way better to drive generally btw arnt the intake bolt patterns differant on those 2 manifolds ide stick to the zx flange/injector bosses then go twin su from there on
yo2001
I don't think the intake really limits the HP that much but I think center mount TB like BMW will help the flow some
z-ya
Unless you are going for the sexy look of multiple throttle bodies, you are wasting time and money. Just put the 240SX TB on there (and port the manifold for it) and be done with it. You can retain the stock linkage. If you start hacking up some L24 manilfolds for EFI, you will still need to figure out a fuel rail, something to hold the fuel rail, and linkage for the TBs. Plus now you have to figure out how to calibrate the TBs so that you have even air flow between the two of them. Seems like a complicated task, for no performance gain. A single 60mm TB will flow enough air for more HP than any NA L6 can generate. You are better off taking the money you would spend doing this, and send your head out to Sunbelt, Rebello, or someone else that knows how to get the most air through an L6 head. Now that will improve your performance!! Just my $0.02 Pete
