Guest Lsb4life
i have decided to do a rb swap and have a few Q's about the materials i need. i have already done a 240z with a ford FI v-8 in it and want to do another 240z. i am getting a half clip from a importer in my area for $3900 and i am going to pickup a 240 this weekend. i need to know how to wire up the new motor to the z and how is the clutch done? Also what kind of fuel pump should i use and should i upgrade the fuel line? i need all the info i can get about what is needed to do the swap and to do it the right way how to setup the oil return lines, what oil pan to use. basiclly everything needed for swap [/code]
stony
everything you want to know can be found either in this forum or the alternative motors forum use the search option with key words like oil pan, fuel, transmision ect ect. oh by the way you need a r33 gtst 5 speed tranny unless you plan on doing a lot of cutting to get the gtr tranny in there. Guest zline
hey stony...sucks about not finding the video... lsb4life: searching can be tedious so i'll do my best to answer you in one spot. fuel pump: well the stock one is adequate but how much power do you want? then we can tell you. wiring: you need a full pinout and cut a hole in the firewall for the ecu wiring to pass thru then bolt the ecu to floor, it'll come on the drivers side so youll have to do a little modding to get it on the passenger side. fuel lines: nope they're fine. mounts: 200ZR (RB20DET Z31) oil pan sump and pickup: 200ZR cya
Guest MistaFosta
You use the stock fuel lines for an RB26? Seems a bit small... So a 200zr pan will work as an alternative to cutting and modding?
BRAD D
The 200zr pan is the only rear sump pan for the RB, but to make it fit you must make the front of the pan lower in order to clear the bearing cap girdle. and you will also have to cut up and mod the side in order to clear the oil pick up. As for the gas lines, you can use the old feed line as a return. And run a new line for a feed. I ran a -6 line for the feed, I was going to run a -8 but my 800 hp Aeromotive fuel pump dumps out at -6.

BRAD D
Hey Stony, I had an idea for modifying the stock fuel rail on the RB26 so we can run an aftermarket adjustable fuel regulator. The stock rail is just a box tube, so I was thinking cut off the ends and weld some fittings on the ends like the ones on the sump I sent you. Then we could run –6 or –8 lines to regulator. I only have RC550cc injectors but I don’t think my HP goal is as high as yours. If I get an adjustable fuel regulator I think I could hit low 500’s at the flywheel. I just want 500-550HP because I know the stock bottom end can handle it. So for me to reach this goal I think as far as the fuel is concerned I think this mod, and turbos that could handle more boost would get me there. What do you think?
