RB26powered74zcar
Can anyone that has delt with a 83 zxt in stock form, give me some places to start looking. I just brought this car home from a wrecking yard, which I only paid two hundred for the whole car, and it's been in a wreck, (front end smashed) but the car is complete and un molested so everything is hooked up like it should be. I charged the battery and everything works and lights up. It turns over, but I took a plug wire loose and grounded it to the motor and there is NO SPARK. There is nothing that has been removed from the car, I know this for a fact... Please, is this enough info for you to give me a place to start looking?? Tim240z
Have you checked for spark from the coil to the distributor? Maybe the coil is bad. Take off the dizzy cap and check the contacts too. Tim
D83ZXT
Hey Joel.... You might want to see if the power transistor is working. I had a similar problem in the past and it was that darn little part. You'll see it on your coil bracket. Shoot me an email. if your interested. I can give you my new one that I am no longer using. Mudge
Check coil resistance if you haven't already done so, when coils go bad its often fast.
