BayAreaZT
Last week I swapped my 4.11 diff to a 3.54. Before the swap my boost gauge was reading about 9psi max. My gauge only goes up to 15 psi and now I can peg it all the way to 15 psi. It is probably higher than that but I can't tell. I know my gauge probably isn't that accurate but can it be off by up to 5psi? Maybe a wastegate problem? Does anyone know what type of boost level I should be seeing with a stock L28et, stock turbo, mkIII supra intercooler, stock fuel and ecu, 2.5" exhaust. Guest Zcarsmakemyheadhurt
First off put in a real boost gauge to be sure of what is going on in the wastegate. If anything with a intercooler you should loose a few lbs but make sure your wastegate is OK by hiting the vacume hose to the actuator with compressed air, the rod should move freely. If not there is your problem. If it does move make sure the wastegate rod is not over tight on the wastegate swing valve, if it is it probably isnt opening enough. Put a boost gauge and let us know the real deal on the boost situation.
Clifton
Stock wastegastes start to move around 7psi. You can put a bike pump on it with a gauge and see were yours is opening at.
