labrat
I have another quick question about flywheel/flexplate mounting. I am about to replace my flywheel (AWFUL starter grind and at least 3 missing teeth), and i don't know which way faces the torque converter. I could just put it on the same way as the old one, but i don't know if that's correct. Do the "bumps" around the converter mounting holes face the converter or the crank? Just wanna make sure, as this is definitely a job I don't want to repeat... Bill
Dave
On my mid 80's 350 the bumps face the converter. Dave....

Mike C
Make sure and take the time to shim the starter correctly so the problem won't return. Here is a link to a post on another board where I described the process. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/board/ubbhtml/Forum1/HTML/020067.html
