Guest Anonymous
Hi, i was wondering how i can take out the drip rails without damaging them. anyone know?
Tim240z
I removed mine, and I would highly, highly recommend against it. If I were to do it over, I wouldnt. It has taken many many hours of body work to get the rewelded roofline straight again. It does look absolutely gorgeous, but in hindsight, I don't think it was worth the excruciating effort. denny411
If you`re talking about just removing the stainless trim. start at the rear and twist the trim from the bottom and lift. go slowly so you don`t kink or permanently bend it. Tim, what caused you to have so much rework time involved? I`m considering it too. Is there anything you could have done to limit the amount of time and bodywork involved? Oh, is that what he means? In that case, yeah really easy if you're careful. Disregard my ramblings above then!! Tim
Guest Anonymous
hi Tim, it is the stainless trim, but i think i also heard somewhere else that everything had to be re-welded back together. is this the same trim that i'm thinking of? it is the stainless lip that is attached to the roofline directly above the window frame.. Georgia Flash
I do not think that you would have to re weld the stainless trim back on because it is secured by clips. Now like Tim said the roof would have to be welded back together if you cut off the drip rails under the stainless piece. I personally will not reuse the stainless trim but I will not cut off the drip rail either. I will just leave it like it is and paint.
