Guest livewire23
Ooh boy. That sure is nice. I had to count the exhaust pipes because I still don't believe my eyes. That's real nice.

Mudge
haha, crap, I thought it was angled like a mother. That must be the 1000 HP V16 that wont see the market, because the car cost $250,000, sorry Bob Lutz
Guest BigWhyteDude
thats the very same caddy engine that is suposed to get like 20 miles to the gallon over my dead parrets body
Dave240Z
thats the very same caddy engine that is suposed to get like 20 miles to the gallon over my dead parrets body It does. The ECU basically shuts half the engine off when cruising. Mercedes does the same thing with it's V12 used in the S600. Forget having NOS on tap, I'd rather have another 8 cylinders! Mudge
That thing has to weigh an embarrasing amount though, how about a 427 iron block LS1 instead Vette guys are getting 31-33 MPG on the freeway (stock cams of course), and they are not running any fancy 4-6-8 stuff
Tim240z
Yeah but that would be some VERY SERIOUS wow factor!!! Tim
Guest livewire23
if caddy has any sense they'll probably do the same 1st straight to 4th deal that the recent f-bodies have.
Guest shuyun
as for weight think all aluminum!!!!!!!! is suposed to abut the same as a V8.
Guest greimann
There is an excellent article in the May Car and Driver about it. The basic run down is: Raw block weight: 175# Fully dressed engine weight: 695# Displacement: 13.6 L HP / TQ: 1000 / 1000 Production quantity: one
Mudge
as for weight think all aluminum!!!!!!!! is suposed to abut the same as a V8. I find that hard to believe, not that it could't be true, I'll bank on a near 100 pound crankshaft. Keep in mind the aluminum block LS1, its nowhere near half the weight of an LT1 (of course thats not all iron either, intake/heads are alum if you get an Fbody/Vette LT1). LS1 is around 60# lighter, plus this thing is going to move the weight distro very forward. I still look at the Jag V12 240Z, I believe it was around 3200 pounds? That weighs more than a hardtop C5. Fully dressed engine weight: 695# How DO they do it
Guest 280Tom'z
that piggy will make it to market as long as the caddy proves it has a market with the v12 full size lux sedan to compete with the mercades and other cars in that class which it probly will and the V-16 isnt all that hefty way lighter than the Jag 12 anyway its not going in a sports car its goin in a lux car dosent need to be light because the car wont be either and if you could afford the car its goin in who cares bout gas milage
ZR8ED
Not for me guys. I'm not modding my frame rails/steering system again! HOLY !! ****!! on the WOW factor though...
Guest zfan
Only one! Well where does the line begin for the lottery tickets to win that one bad boy. Yeah those ls1's are making wicked numbers with decent fuel economy. Yesterday there was a 2001 Vette not a Z06 at the dyno's putting down 570 hp at the rear wheels and when he left he opened her up hooked up and ran away like a rocket!
