Mikelly
...Man I'm tired, sore as hell all over and I've STILL got a pile of rock to move... The guy did a heck of a job burrying my trailer (Actually poured the gravel up the drive, but then poured the rest in front of the trailer!). I had to dig out the front pad area 6-8 inches deep in preperation for pouring the pad to connect the existing pad to the sidewalk behind the house. I've got most of that dirt dug and moved, and about half the gravel spread around. Turned out nice, and when I'm done with it the place will look nice. We opted for the light brown river stone. Man I'm beat... Mike
CruxGNZ
Old fart . Yyyup *stretch* ahh..... glad I don't have to do that anymore, the Bobcat 773 not only makes short work of jobs like that, but it's fun to operate . Got well over 800 hours on that sucker now . !M! CruxGNZ
In my experience, if you use a Bobcat for anymore than 2 hours, it isn't fun anymore, it just beats you up. The upside is you go to bed feeling like you had a massage. !M!
Guest Aaron
The only way I will touch that much gravel: Kubota!

johnc
Mike, Shoveling 20 tons of gravel? Let's see, each shovel full will hold, maybe, 20 pounds. 20 * 2000 = 40,000 / 20 = 2,000 shovel fulls. Assuming perfection you could toss a shovel full in 2 seconds so, now we're a 2,000 * 2 = 4,000 seconds. 4,000 / 60 = 66 2/3 minutes.t So, if it took you over two hours you're obviously a slacker... Mikelly
John, I'm a slacker... Took me a little over an hour to do about 1/3rd of it. Still need to spread the rest! Mike
Guest Want aZ
John just rent a tractor with a box blade, not really that hard to operate, and would probably be cheaper than a boxblade, just smooth out, wet down then hit it with a plate compactor, will be smooth and hard, Ive done this to my Inlaws drive way several times, But Im also a Heavy Equipment & Project Supervisor for the Army, Have several thousand hours of stick time, mostly on D7G Dozer, and Cat 130G Grader, But I also have over 3500 hours of Platform time as an instructor for the same...you should be able to spread, smooth, and vibe out in an afternoon...and save your back as well Damon
