Guest zwhore
i know every one says they have 1000 hp and its an 8 sec car. i also know probably know one ont this forum has seen the car. just to clairify, i spent a year researching what to use and what not to. emailed japanese companies to find out what they use(since they can always make lots more power they we do), and i went the opposite way of everyother TT owner. i would say that 98% ofTT guys use JWT crap. i only used their ecu to raise the redline and remove the speed cut, every thing eles was done by an HKS vpc and gcc. i got laughed at for months on TT.net , untill the car was done. about 20 members saw the car dyno, and drag race and could vouch for it, so that quickly ended the disbelife. then started the "can you tell me what you did?""can you help me redo my TT?""if i use this with this other thing will that work as good?". it was kinda funny. i have always done my car different than the popular way, because the popyular is usually the cheap and ineffecient way. i am building another TT for a guy now, that has the exact same engine, only he want HKS ball bearing turbos and a haltech E-11 standalone. so his car should make about 560rwhp and spool alot quicker. the great thing about this guy is that i can take the car whenever i want, so if you guys ever have a meet i can bring. and if anyof you guys live in memphis, tenn,, the guy that owns the yellow z lives there and is happy to give rides. hes added some suspension stuff and the ap racing brakes. but the engine's the same. let me start something new, i am trying to achive 350rwhp in my 72 on a intenally stock engine(L28ET). can it be done? or will i blow it up. i have only put in a new head gasket and ARP studs. tony

Get a good intercooler, hybrid turbo, fuel system and engine control, you can run low 12s or high 11s (with slicks) all day.
Guest De Schmaydee
.....i've seen that car a few months ago on ebay.....beautiful car...the previous owner could only do high 14's/15's (hehehehehe)..... .....i just dont understand getting 500+rwhp(yeah on a dyno)...if you cant get a drivetrain that can "really" use it (in the real world).......is there one?.....i know jeffp was working on the tko thing (which oughtta do it.....no small feat).......and the v8 guys can put some stout trannies in their cars......but is there any tranny you can put on a 500+hp zcar (any zcar motor) that will allow you to "really" get that to the ground ?.....gonna have to have a quaife and some beeeeeg tires ...but then its tranny time fer sure..........S
Guest zwhore
TT tranny's are very strong. there are alot of very high HP TT's with stock manual tranny's. and my best run was a 12.5 @125 or 126. i cant fint the timeslip, nor do i care about a 12 sec pass. when you do a v8 swap on a older z you are forced to use an american POS trans. thats why you dont know to many people with reliable tranmissions. BRAD D
I think the 300ZXTT transmission is almost the same as my GTS Skyline Transmission. It is big, looks like it could handle a lot of power.
