Georgia Flash
Do any of you guys have the hyperflex front bushing set for your 280? I burned out the old rubber bushings and took out the center sleeve, but the new urethane bushings appear to be too big. Am I supposed to get the outside shell pressed out? The instructions were a little vague about that. And if so, does the new urethane just sit inside the hole without an outside shell? flibuoy
Need to remove sleeve from arm. Seems wrong but that is the way. Take blade off hacksaw, pass through, reassemble and carefully saw through sleeve at least once. Tap out with hammer and punch. john
80LS1T
Yeah it kinda sounds easy but those sleeves are a BIT*H to get out of there! I did all my bushings on my 80 ZX this summer and that was the most difficult thing about doing my suspension upgrades. It took for ever to get those out of my lower control arms! Glad its over though. I used heat, hacksaw(same method as above), punches, hammers, and a press. The best thing to do is to cut through with the hacksaw and then us a punch or a hydraulic press if you have one avaliable and punch or press them out. Dp351zcar
I used a blow torch and a hand held grinder to grind a groove in the sleeve. The same as a hacksaw but easer and faster. Don
Georgia Flash
I used a local engine shop and they pressed them out for me for only $8 bucks! Cheaper than the hack saw I purchased earlier in the day and a lot easier on me too. If I had to start all over again I would forget about the burning rubber and hack saw method and go straight for the shop.
