stony
removed the tranny tonight and looked at the clutch. it was the worst smelling car part i have ever delt with. next to burnt diff oil it is the worst. at any rate the clutch is done. I am so fricken close to getting an adapter and going auto. powerglide maybe.

Guest 1SickZ
did you try a Z31 clutch ? its a tad smaller than Z32 no ?
Guest FullBoostOrBust
This is a very good topic, We need to find a hybrid clutch for the RB tranny. Spending $2000 US on a clutch / flywheel assem is not something i want to be hit with down the road.
Guest Anonymous
What I gathered from 300zxclub.com and twinturbo.net is that Z32 clutch will fit RB26 but not the flywheel. Z32 flywheel has 8 bolts while RB26 takes only 6 bolts. -Guycali
Guest 1SickZ
Z31 is 6 bolts.... and i think the splines is the same too ...
stony
sorry the z32 clutch disc will not fit ... maybe the non turbo but the turbo one is too big and the rb26 has a 9 bolt pressure plate.
Guest 1SickZ
non-turbo will fit and were not talking about pressure plate bolts were talking flywheel to crank bolts.. rb being 6 like Z31 and Z32's are 8 so im thinkin a 88+ Z31 clutch will do the job along with a 88+Z31 flywheel. Guest das280zx
what about an L28 clutch? They are six bolt. 240mm for the 2+2 and turbo flywheel. Hmm is rb really a derivative of the L-series? maybe. Also check out 240sx clutch. Maybe too small, but high perf. clutches should be avail. Getting starter to work may be a major b!tch!
Guest tx84ae
Dood automatic is for old ladies. Never swap from a manual ! get a better clutch. I suppose that's why all the really fast cars use them, right. Auto + turbo = no boost loss on shifts
