Guest Anonymous
Would it be OK to install an oil pan off of a 350 from a 1994 Chevy 3/4 ton or would it be too big and crush against the front crossmember of a 1978 280Z?
DavyZ
Would it be OK to install an oil pan off of a 350 from a 1994 Chevy 3/4 ton or would it be too big and crush against the front crossmember of a 1978 280Z? So what are the dimensions of the oil pan vs the 'standard' Chevy pan? You have pictures? I'm not sure how many guys here have the same truck. Mike C
Also depends on what year your 350 is. Around 1977 they changed oil pan seal designs, around 1979 they swapped sides with the dipstick and in 1986 they went to one piece rear main. As a general rule, Corvette oil pans are the only ones that are really different (Other than 63-67 Chevy II V8 pans) but since none of the GM pans have have a kickout, and there is no crossmember underneath the pan in the Datsun, any GM pan should work providing it works on the engine you have. grumpyvette
order a catalog from these guys http://www.midwestmotorsportsinc.com/mms.nsf/pages/Specials they have several 7 and 8 qt kick-out style oil pans some only 7" deep, some complete with pump and pickup of very good quality for dirt cheap prices ($75 pan, pump, pickup) Im useing one modified for a larger 9.5 qts on my 383 corvette now, its every bit as nice as some Ive paid $350 for and even with custom road racing mods to hold 9.5 qts it cost less than $
