hey guys i thought that u nissan guys would be able to help me. im about to get a 240Z and i want to swap in a SR20 but i was wondering if there would be any problems with that. how much it would roughly cost and so on any help will be apreciated. and what other engine swaps would be good other than the V8's (RB26DETT ect) thanks in advance.

grassroots motorsports had a project car or something and sold it to somebody, something like that. and it was a 240Z with a sr20det.

maybe send them a email and ask some questions.

bob H, not saying your wrong at all, im more then likely wrong but from what i was told it was a 1973 240Z, with gorund control coil-overs, red top SR20, and lots of rust. ill see if i can get the email i got from them.

Thanks

fair enough. I'll say there was a 240sx project car for GRM. I have no knowledge of a 240z project car. Actually, I talke to them about being one of their project cars with my current project.....

I'd love to see if there was another 240z with a SR motor.

@Pilon

I plan on doing the exact same thing. The engine I already found, the car not yet though. If you knowof someone who can make the engine and gearbox mounts please do share. There's still not much commercially available for this particular swap.

I am also doing this swap, I just bought a 71 240Z for this project and allready tracked down a R200 Turbo Diff thats on its way to me. Also looking for mounts my self, found a mate in AU but donno if he's down to make mounts for me. I'm in NYC USA, lets share our knowlage on this very rare and sick as hell 240Z conversion, can we say midship 2,200lbs/300whp? giddy up.

That would be my aim. Keeping the engine behind the front wheels, sorting out suspension and bracks ... That should make it a really fun track machine as well as a gorgeous car to look at. 8)

Any progress I make, I'll post here

Going over to France soon to pick up a race prepped 240Z. After that it's off to Holland to pick up an SR20DET. And then ... I need to find someone to help me fab the custom bits.
