Guest the_dj
There are two fittings just above the oil filter on the driver's side of the block. They are one above the other. What are they? Is one of them an oil send line for a cooler? If so, can I use it with an adapter into two -4AN lines to supply my turbos? What size/thread are the ports? dmyntti
I am pretty sure those are the supply and return line for an oil cooler. I assume that these could be used for your oil feed for the turbos. Just be sure that oil also flows through the filter and to the rest of the engine. My 88 Corvette had this oil cooler. In that case the oil lines ran to and from the radiator. Mike C
They are pressure lines, but not neccessarily for an oil cooler. ALl of the oil coolers for small blocks either replace the filter or sandwich. I think they are both pressurized and not a return. Hopefully somebody else knows for sure. I don't feel like looking it up...
Guest the_dj
All I need is a pressure port. I don't want particles to flow through the bearings of the turbo, so I assume the port I want will need to be post-filter. I'm running the return elsewhere (probably through the valve cover) so that's not an issue.
niceguy678us
I just got finished installing a 350 crate motor in an 87 monte carlo SS (originally equiped with a 305). The lower one is used as a location for an oil pressure sending unit. The upper one you can see clean through to the flywheel. The dipstick is on the passenger side so I understand that the one I am referring to is of the later style casting. Hope this helps you in some way. That explains the top one much better I found on another forum that the bottom one is a 1/2" NPT, post filter plug, and in my case it is unused. It's the one I'm using to feed the snails.
