Dyno'd my car... and IC efficiency

I dynoed my car last Saturday with the Nissans.org group at Speedworks in Dallas. Stock junkyard motor with my turbo (t3/to4b super H) and only 7psi......... 196whp and 211ft/lb at 5000rpm. That is 50hp over stock!! Time to raise the boost! I'm comfortable that the motor can take more now, so I'll shoot for 10psi and see how it goes. Baby steps since this motor has to last a while!

I also checked IC efficiency the way ScottieGNZ suggested with thermocouples and found 135F on the hot side and 96F at the throttle body. That 96F was right over ambient this past Saturday afternoon in Dallas! Corky Bell still knows how to build a PRIMO intercooler!!!

My buddy Chris with the blue 240 turbo he bought from Jerry at All Z Car ( http://www.allzcar.com ) found it for me in Houston. I could not have my car running the way it is now if it weren't for these two guys. I owe them both big-time!!

Thanks, Clint! I will!

I have been very fortunate to have Greg Kring of Buick GN fame tuning the DFI with a borrowed Horiba. A/F ratio on the dyno started at 14 idle, went quickly to 11 when boost kicked in and finally to 10 at WOT. These numbers from the dyno tell me it is just about right on the street, considering the load differential between dyno(Dynojet) and street.

What type of IC do you have? You mentioned a Bell IC. Core size? Flow path? I'm building an intercooler that has a core size of 22" wide, 6" tall, and 3" thick. It flows up and down. My In/outlet's are on the same side.

I'll email the rest of the missing pics to you. Some I had removed from my host due to space restrictions.

Good luck with your project!
