EvilRufusKay
I am looking for setup options to get my Tach to work. I have a 75 280Z with a chevy 350. I also have a MSD ignition box. Do you come of the box or the Distributor? I appreciate any help you guys can give me.
Guest greimann
I had an MSD several years ago. I believe you need the tach adapter to get it to work with the Datsun tach. Look here: http://www.msdignition.com/1troub1.htm
EvilRufusKay
The white wire in my car gis butt-ed to a red wire that I assumed should go to power.....oops!! I hope I didn't fry my MSD box. GAZRNR
Using the MSD ignition box with a stock tach you will need their tach adapter. it's about $50 from Summit Racing.
virginz2
Just got my stock 77 280z factory tach working perfectly.for the sbc .I bought the resistor that everyone says you need and ordered the msd tach adapter that everyone says you need.. Had to waite for tach adapter to come in the mail. I got bored and thought would experiment. Pulled the tach out of the dash and hooked from the msd box tach port to the large post on the back of stock tach(red wire) no resistor or anything just a wire and slight tuning on dash pot and works perfect...
