Guest needwaymorespeed
Decided I want a solid roller lifter, whats everyones experience with solid rollers Ive seen the needles for the rollers fail many times.who makes the best lifter besides jessel too much$$ I want to try and run 40,000 miles on them with about .600 lift 195 seat pressure is this possibel or a dream?? any trick to doing this?? am leaning toward the new red zone lifters from isky there rebuildable which is a nice plus but havent ruled out the crowers am open to any suggestions. How important is a rev kit I assume its important to stop the roller lifter from bouncing on the cam when youre on the base circle, due to the valve lash. anyone ever dealt with schneider understand there lifters are same as crowers only cheaper?? any and all input vary welcome thanks Curtis
Mike C
I have about 12,000 miles on my Comp lifters. I put the motor in the car in '89. They said they were oil pressure fed and would hold up. I have Crane gold rockers as well. .550 lift and Comp 950 springs (145 seat)I have B&B restrictors in the top end as well. Don't know if that was a good choice or not, but it's made the 12k! I have only run the lash probably 3 times and it seldomly needs touching so I assume the rollers are holding up...
grumpyvette
crane has a very good track record for both hydrolic and solid rollers,Ive used comp cams, erson, crower and they are all ok but crane seems to have the best reputation for durability. most roller cam failures are caused by useing the wrong clearances or the wrong weight springs so check everything carefully. http://www.cranecams.com/master/lifter.htm
