Guest Willow Warrior
Can someone identify these wheels for me? The prior owner isn't sure what they are. They look like Panasports or Minilites, and say "Japan" on the backside. I weighed them at 11.5 lbs, 14x6. They appear to be a cast design with a machined lip, and the words "FORMULA ONE" next to the outer lip. Can anybody help identify who makes these rims? Guest Willow Warrior
What makes these a Panasport? Are there any distinguishing marks? Another person emailed me , said the were a Minilite knockoff from the 70's.

Guest ZmeFly
they do look like panasports though. could be minilites they are basically the same with the exception i believe that minilites are magnesium wheels. with the wheels at 11.5 lbs they are at the same weight as my convo pros. id buy them
johnc
Those are older versions of the current Panasport Formula wheel. They used to be called Panasport Formula One wheels but I think Bernie sued them for using that phrase. At 11.5 lbs they are probably the lightweight version which is very prone to cracking from the lug nut holes inward to the centerbore. Have them professionally inspected before turning a lap.
