Guest bigjim240z
ok i have an n/a zx that i want to get a little more hp out of without having to put a v8 in it or turbo motor. i have a e31 head with hks cam and some mild head work done. it was going on a 240z but thats not gona happen anytime soon. i w3as thinking about milling the intake ports so i can use an efi manifold on the head.(just a little notch for the injectors). would this be worth it? i know ill have some nice compression with the flat top pistons and e31 head. ill aslo run a header and open exaust. should be a nice healthy motor, nothing outragous or anything, just a daily driver with some more get up and go. whatta ya think? fl327
e31 does not have bolt hole for mount fi manifold, do it?
yo2001
The E31 would need EFI provision. just notches on the injectors and holes for the intake
Guest bigjim240z
ya thats what i figured, i bought a car a while ago that had an efi l28 but had an e88 head on it, i saw what they did to make it work, very easy, drill and tap a few holes and notch the intake ports for the injectors. would it be worth it though? would the efi be ok with the mild cam thats in the head? thanks
yo2001
I ran E88 milled .080" inch with 274 mild cam with EFI. It actually ran good.
Sean73
The E31 has small valves which could limit breathing. How much , I don't know. You could swap the cam to a L28 head (N42, P79, P90), and all of your EFI hardware will bolt right up.
Guest bigjim240z
the e31` i have had big valves swapped in it, so valve size isnt a problem.
Lockjaw
Do it and see, I would think it would run pretty good.
