Guest tom sixbey
Regrettably, Wesley Willis - a very amuzing and unique songwriter, passed away from complications with lukemia on August 21. - Any one of us who has been humored by his lyrics will surely regret his loss - RIP. SBC_400
wow I had never relised that wesly's impact was soo far reaching. I live In bucktown (the same nieghborhood as wesly) and use to see him often at a lot of shows in the nieghborhood. Now I can go to the double door and not wory about getting head-butted by him (one of his favorite ways to greet people). he was odd, but nice, and his record labels always had to keep buying him new portable cd players because the demons always smashed his, which he used to wear on a rope around his neck. I know the obituary stated that he died of complications due to lukemia, but I heard from a friend that used to play with him that more specificaly ti was a heart attack in his sleep what else can I say but... "Rock over London, Rock on Chicago!"

patzky1
I remember him coming down here to Champaign two years ago. Good show as I recall, but during it he said "NO........I will not play your requests.........I will play my new stuff..........off my new CD (in his usual idiom)." After the show he was invited to somebody's dorm room in my building, great idea, a 300 lb schizophrenic man running around giving people headbuts in the halls! Quite a character.
