L28 Trouble

So I drive my '79 280zx to the movie store, hop back in and it wouldn't start. I get the feeling that the engine isn't getting fuel. It just turns over, but doesn't catch and start. It was running like a top until I tried to fire it up again.

Any suggestions on how to diagnose the problem?

Thanks

Isn't that the usual MO of a bad module? Gets hot, won't work, cools off, works fine?

Vapor lock could be caused by the heat too, I suppose...

The engine would definitely have heat soaked while sitting in the parking lot, so don't count heat out yet. I've got a mechanical temp gauge on my Z, probe mounted in the thermostat housing and it will run at 190, turn it off it for 5 minutes, and the temp is at 210 or 215. Start it up, coolant circulates, and it immediately goes back down.

I can only wish it was something like that. I'm towing the little sucker to my mechanic's shop tomorrow to see what happened and how much money I get to spend that I don't have.

Oh well, cars will be cars!
