Guest ON3GO
like that? i have the insert in, red thread tube on, then the cold, then the Gland nut, then ontop of the gland nut i have the red bumpstop.. (this is where i was confused).. then you see the spring with the silver perch, then the 2 washers (is there any way to find out how many washers i need excatly? im not triming the isolators) then the bearing.. am i good? also im assuming the bumpstop goes just like this...Fat side down.. mike
Guest ON3GO
also sense im using 3 washers, because of leaving the isolator stock... or how ever u spell it... anyways when i test put everything together off the car and i put the nut on the strut insert threaded part where the 5-way adjuster is... well 1st off the strut threaded part wiith the adjuster doesnt stick out so far.. its enough to get the nut on but thats about it,... i mean Nut on as the top of the nut fits flush with the adjuster part.. is that right and fine? or no? mike
gramercyjam
How many threads grab - 2 or 3? If so, I'd take out a washer. --John B
j260z
you should have more room than that. the 3 washers shouldn't have anything to do with your clearance problems. if you take off the strut bearing and the 3 washers and just put the isolator on, how far down the threaded part of the strut insert does it go? on mine i have 5/8" of thread showing. j260z
have been thinking about your problem for a while now and have a few questions. i now recall that you have sectioned your struts. do you know what inserts you had to order? the problem you are running into may have to do with the fact that the front struts are not from a z car and as a result the thread lengths and such are not the same as the stock z illumina. if that is the case then you may have to resort to trimming the isolators and going with less washers to get the desired amount of thread for the nut to engage on. does this make sense? and is your camera still working? if not then i'll have to find some pictures to explain. Guest ON3GO
well i got the nut on.... what it looks like (camera still broke ).. well with the nut on all the way on as it will go, the top of the nut fits flush with the adjuster.. mike
