scottyMIz
hey guys i had a problem with my pump i replaced it about two months ago. Didn't put on a pre filter and i thought that was why it was making funny noises.I just changed my pump for a new one and the new one is loud too.I searched and couldn't find anything on the subject. The fuel filters both of them are good, haven't checked fuel pressure yet but will today. The only thing i can think of is that it's the return line maybe plugged?Anyone got any ideas?I do have it insulated so it's not touching the metal directly. zcarnut
If you have the fuel injection pump a bad fuel damper will cause the fuel pump to be more noisy. Also check the rubber mounts on the rear pump. As they age they can harden up and transmit the pump vibration to the chassis. And a lot of the aftermarket "high performance" pumps are just louder than the stock Nissan pump.
scottyMIz
it's prolly my prob being an aftermarket pump but it just seems to loud and gets louder the lower the rpm.The mounts are new and i have no dampener took it out was all rusty. Thanks

scottyMIz
ok guys return line is good must just be the pump.I was wondering what you guys ran for fuel pressure?
fl327
its not uncommon for me to turn it up to 55psi or so, street driving i run anywhere from 36-43. I like 43psi because that is supposed to be where an injector shoots its full stock cc value, 260cc in my case.
scottyMIz
i was running 30psi of fuel pressure i think that's why it wouold dip lean then jump rich.I got it at 40 now and i'll see tomorrow how it runs. Thanks
