Guest Anonymous
hey guys, i need to know if a z32 lsd will fit on a 85 z31 turbo. if anyone knows that would be a great help, trying to get a deal on it. i believe the 87+ fit it fine but im not sure of the older z31's. thanks, mark

SleeperZ
Well I'll take a shot at it. If it's an R200, it should fit ok, but the R230 will probably not be a bolt-in.
Dp351zcar
Not Z30 we are S30 guys. No the R200 out of a Z32 will not fit in place of a 89 or older R200. This has been covered so many times people are tired answering it over and over. To do a search look at the upper right of the this page and click on the search button put in VLSD or R200 or what ever. You will come up with a lot. Guest SteveR
I'll answer, since I'm one of the few Z31 guys here. I'm pretty sure the Z32 diff will not bolt up. Whether or not the guts will fit into the Z31 diff is in question though. Now, there is someone who took the entire rear suspension out and put the Z32 suspension in. He's still in the middle of it, so how well it works and just exactly what he did hasn't been completely brought out into the open yet. Go to Z31.com and search the msg board for "Ken in AZ". I'm waiting for a full write-up on it because I want to do the same thing in my 86. A 4.11:1 VLSD would sure be nice.
Dp351zcar
Like I said if you want to know if the vlsd will fit into a old style housing do a search in drivetrain forum. Try putting "VLSD" in the "words to seach for" box. It's been covered in the past. Don

Don thanks for the answers... i tried searching for limited slip differential and lsd, but not vlsd. it's just that the open differential is killing me, if i had a lsd in it im sure it would pick up a lot better.
