mas28O
I just put in a Roll cage and I need to know if I have to run aftermarket 5pt seat belts for 11 sec times. Right now I am using stock seat belts but I do not want to get kicked out of the track. Mike
dmanzo57
Mike, NHRA requires a 5-point harness when you hit 11's. You will also need a SFI approved jacket. Don
mas28O
Don do you know about using the stock seats with the 5 point? Also do you have any pics of your 5 point mounting points? Thanks Mike
80LS1T
Do you also have to have a full cage for 11's? Just curious! Guy
V8ZRACER260Z
You can't be too safety concious. Do not just "go by the rules". To me if your going 11's a full cage, a 5 or 6 point harness, driveshaft loops, ect would be a minimum requirment. Your track should provide you a NHRA rulebook as a guide, but stay ahead of the rules. I try to at least follow the next more stringent set of rules. If you run 11's follow the rules for running 10's. Rick
dmanzo57
Mike, I'm using a stock seat with the 5-point harness. I cut a hole in the seat back for the shoulder belts to pass through. The shoulder belts mount(wrap around) to the back brace on the roll bar. The lap belts mount to the factory lap belt locations, and the submarine belt mounts to the brace that the front of the seat rails bolt to. Guy, All you need is a 5-point roll bar for 11's. The main hoop, two rear braces, and a door bar on the drivers side. Don
