jasonfen
After my radio was stolen and console ripped out, the oil gauge would stop working then start again. Finally it just quit. I have since fixed the damage. The oil pressure sensor is fairly new. Also, the water temp is working. I have checked continuity from the sensor to the gauge. It checks out fine. It guess the oil side of the gauge could be bad. It's just strange it happened right after the radio was ripped out. I have checked every wire I can get out and they all look ok. I'm going to get another sensor just to rule that out. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this further? Thanks for any info.
Cruez
Oil pressure sensors on the l6 are notorius for malfunctioning... So you have another one to check it by?
Tim240z
To check if the sensor is working, just ground the signal wire. If the gauge is working the needle will climb and peg at max oil pressure. Then you know it's the sendor. If the gauge doesn't move, then it's the gauge, or the wire going to the gauge. jasonfen
I thought so. I tried grounding the sensor wire. The gauge just sat there with a blank stare. I guess I'll be looking for a new gauge to test it with. Thanks
