want a crate engine to kick serious butt?

remember your NOT limited to 454 cid and the cylinder heads compression and cam you choose must match. keeping in mind that the cars trans and the cars rear gearing normally has a huge effect on the RPM range the the engine spends its time in,and that the AVERAGE RPM range the engine opperates in determines the intake and cam that will be most effective and that as the cams duration increases the compression ratio must increase also.

GM Performance Parts proudly introduced a new big-block "crate" motor, something called the "ZZ572/620." It’s a 572-cubic inch, big-block V-8 with a tall deck single plane intake manifold fitted with a 850 CFM Demon carburetor, and it delivers 620 HP at 5500 RPM, with 650 lbs. ft. of torque at 4500 RPM.
