I used to try to set it at like 650rpm, but the car really doesnt like that. My old N/A ZX EFI motor wouldn't happily idle at anything less than 1000rpm, and my N/A motor with SU carbs and mild cam wouldn't take anything less than 850. So what should I set the turbo at? fl327 Posted November 17, 2003 Share Posted November 17, 2003 i think its related to having none of the idle things on my manifold, or emissions stuff, but i can only get mine to idle strong at 900 lowest, anything lower than that i have to hold the gas down until engine warms up a little. Guest bastaad525 Posted November 17, 2003 Share Posted November 17, 2003 yeah I get that too after I swapped to the '75 manifold... it's not having the air bypass valve on there. I dont have to hold the gas though, even when it's freezing out side, it will start right up, and just idle REALLY low, like 500-600rpm, until it warms up.
