TomoHawk
I got the R180 right (3.5445) now, but can you get any lower without major mods or work? I wanna hook it up with a 4N71B for serious highway cruising. thx.
Wagz
3.36 is the lowest I am aware of. Very rare in the R200 and spendy when you can find 'em.
Dan Juday
3.36 is the lowest I am aware of. Very rare in the R200 and spendy when you can find 'em. Very common in the R180 though, and cheap.
Wagz
Doh! My bad. Tomohawk did say R180. Dan is right. They are plentiful in the R180 version.
TomoHawk
What's the diff? lol There's not much difference between 3.36 and 3.54, so I think I will just not bother with what's in there. Unless there is something significantly different. I think the overdrive trans will make more of a difference than .18 in the diff, unless you do both. 80LS1T
I thought I read in somebodys post that there was a 3.08? I cant remember who said it though? Guy
Trevor
There's not much difference between 3.36 and 3.54 5% So, if you redline at freeway speeds at 5000 RPM, the same speed will only require 4750 RPM. If you spend $20 / week for gas it will cost $19 / week to go the same distance. $50 / year in 10 years the diff swap might pay for itself
Guest Nic-Rebel450CA
I think this page shows all of the possibilities: http://www.geocities.com/z_design_studio/transmission.html BTW, isnt that actually the "highest" gear ratio that you are looking for? 240Z Turbo
I thought I read in somebodys post that there was a 3.08? I cant remember who said it though?Guy You are correct. It used to be available through Nissan Comp. only. I thought it was a 3.07:1, same thing BTW, I am selling a complete 4N71B swap. http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=28415
TomoHawk
Do you need to move the trans support for that swap? Also, is that driveshaft a bolt-on thing to the R-180?

The driveshaft is for the R200.
jack46
Ok Im new here...I have a 260 Z with an R 200 3.54 welded spider gears. I presently have 383 team g intank 234/244 .480/.510 cam running about 8.0 1/8. Im considering putting in 4.11 I have an opportunity to get one for 175 shipped also found a 3.9 but it is 175 plus shipping. I know there are no absolutes but what should I expect from this mod I run 24' slicks. Im hoping it will get me to 7.8, I have juice that I will also use but felt I should get in 7's before juicing Thanks
