Guest 240Z_72
Just noticed a small leak from my TH350. Any clues as to where this might be coming from and what the fix is? thx, Kurt 72ZT 76 V8Z
Tim240z
Without any specific details, I would bet that it is the pan gasket. Try 'nipping' up the bolts, otherwise, get in there and clean off all the dirt and oil and see where the leak is...probably a new gasket is required....don't cheap out either...you will end up chasing leaks forever. Guest Anonymous
As mentioned, its impossible for use to tell you unless you give an idea where the leak is. Clean it all up and run it and see. If its leaking in the back it might be a tailshaft housing gasket and its just pull the driveline and put in a new one. If its leaking from the bottom its probably a pan as mentioned. If its leaking up front it can be a front pump o ring that goes around the parameter of the front pump on the tranny, or it can be a front seal where the converter comes in. It could also possibly leak from the governer housing there where theres a plate or possibly from the vacuum modulator where it screws in. Thats about all I can think of, oh yeah also perhaps the o-ring where the dipstick tube goes into the tranny. Happy hunting. Guest digitalz
one more place is where the shaft of the shift linkage goes in the tranny. mine is leaking there. good luck

Mike C
If it is from the rear, some yokes have a breather hole in the end and are not compatible with all trans. Get a yoke without the breather hole if that is the case, or pull the tailshaft and see if there is a location for and o-ring to seal the yoke to output shaft. Other than that, all the usual suspects. Front and rear seals, pan gasket, shift linkage and gasket if you have a drain plug.
