Guest bOOsted 240Z
Which one would be better for someone on a tight budget and want around 300rwhp?
yo2001
On tight budget, I wouldn't do either. But probably Turbo would be cheaper.

Phyte
What is a "tight budget"? Around $2000. You should be able to get an L28et for around 3-500. With the rest of your money you should buy a spearco intercooler(~300), boost controller, a fuel pump, and some sort of engine management system. Boost the stock turbo upto 12psi and tune it. You won't be at 300rwhp, but you should be at around 230-250. That will get you a very good base for more power. Once you have a little more money and your confortable with more power just bolt on a T03/04 hybrid turbo and you'll be able to push 300+. Good luck. fl327
If we lived in a perfect world, Phytes plan sounds like the fight plan, but we dont. I would look for a whole running zxt, drive it until you understand it, then swap it. The key to pulling off the cheap motorswaps is understanding the way it works, other wise that 2k will disappear. yo2001
I personally think $2000 isn't going to be enough for anything swap. I think we have easily spent $2000 on a turbo swap and more. It's always th elittle stuff that costs money
fl327
Totally agree, we dont live in a perfect world and stuff always comes up.
Guest bOOsted 240Z
Well I have alot turbo stuff left over from my mr2 turbo. I have a T3/T04E with a .63 AR, Supra tt Intercooler. I swap out my old mr2 engine and put in a 93JDM and trans with total of $1200. But let forget about the budget, cause it wont be a problem after i sell my 91 mr2 turbo. What I want to know is that would it be better for me to look for a junkyard 280zxt and do the swap or get a V8 swap for 300rwhp.
