ToplessZ
Ok here's the scoop. I have a 73 240 with the Imsa body Kit installed. I am not the biggest fan of the rear flares and Have always wanted the reaction research yz flares. I was wondering what you think about using the Imsa front fiberglass fenders and the Reaction Research Rear YZ fenders? Thanks for any Ideas Guys Jared

zlalomz
I have both styles of flares. I will hang them on the project car and snap some shots this weekend. There are pictures of the IMSA fronts and the YZ kit in my personal gallery.
ToplessZ
hey steve I have seen your pics so far and you have an awesome car in the works. I will be looking forward to those shots you are going to take. Probably someone can photoshop a uniform color to them when you have them ready. Im Getting excited
zlalomz
I put 3 pics in my personal gallery. In person it looks like a bulldog, wide, squat and mean. I would use this combo without a G-nose.
Guest Your Car is Slow
I love the way that rear looks....How exactly is that fiberglass applied? Adhesive?
zlalomz
Yes, it is very light It is on a rotisserie. Here is a link to Dan Juday's car with the YZ rear completed. http://www.reactionresearch.com/280yz/danjuday/danjuday.html I will use Dzus fasteners on mine (Autocross car) For bonding fiberglass ask Terry or Dan Juday. zlalomz
Oops, I somehow overwrote Terry Oxendales question asking if the car is sitting on a wooden chair.
EvilRufusKay
Steve, That is more than just an IMSA flare up front. Have you blended it into a stock fiberglass fender or what? Rufus
zlalomz
That is a genuine IMSA flare from a racer who drove in the IMSA (International Motor Sport Association, I think) series in the seventies. The Motorsport Auto flare is IMSA "style".
EvilRufusKay
Steve, What would it take to get you to have a mold made of your front fenders? Not only am I willing to pay, but I would wager that you could easily sell 10 sets of fenders after a mold was made.
zlalomz
I'm working on it.
ToplessZ
Id be interested in another set of fronts if they became available. Thanks for the pictures steve looks good so far anyone got a yay or nay opinion. Anyone willing to photoshop a door and a uniform color? Maybe some bigger wheels Im trying to picture a finished product. Thanks in advance
Dan Juday
I've stated before that I'm not a big fan of the convertable S30. But if I were to do a widebody droptop I'd use the YZ rear fenders and the Hollywood Motorsports rear deck panel. If the two were blended properly I think the result would be stunning. Of course, I could be a little biased toward the YZ.
blueovalz
Dan, I agree about the S30 convertable opinion. The profile on the Z is too important to lose. With that said, I experimented with a picture of my Z as a convertable:
Guest Your Car is Slow
Given that this discussion has gotten into profile...how many people have considered (or even done) chopping the car...or at least setting back the angle of the windshield so its not such a giant aerodynamic parachute! zlalomz
I assume you have seen this one. http://www.zparts.com/sidebars/sb_kw/kwrdstrv8_main.html
ToplessZ
just so everyone knows this is not for a convertible project this is a different car of mine. I really would like to see some color though its kinda hard to picture with them just hanging on a doorless car although from tht perspective it looks pretty good so far.
